Welcome to the official website of the Kumasi Polytechnic, a leading Polytechnic institute and one of the most elegant and vibrant Polytechnics in Ghana. It is a spectacularly beautiful institution, located at the heart of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region and the second largest city of Ghana.

From a very simple mandate of being a Technical Institute dealing mainly in craft based courses, Kumasi Polytechnic has moved from providing Technician and Diploma Programmes into a fully accredited tertiary institution offering HND, Professional and recently Degree programmes.

The Polytechnic is strategically structured into three main Faculties; school of Applied Science, School of Business and Management Studies and school of Engineering. In total, the Polytechnic currently has eighteen Departments. Aside main stream full time programmes these Departments offers uniquely designed programmes for working executives, entrepreneurs and professionals who have a desire to enhance their level of education and skill while they continue in their respective businesses through the part time programmes. Programmes such as Estate Management and Dispensing Technology is known to attract students across Africa and particularly from Uganda, Siera-leone and Nigeria.

In the last couple of years, the Polytechnic initiated the need to offer degree programmes in some specific programmes. The institution is presently developing and strengthening many of its HND programmes into degree programmes. This is to help train even higher caliber personnel in science and technology, equipping them with entrepreneurial skills in order to meet the demands of industry in particular, and to also improve the general socio-economic development of the country.

As the institute grows in resources and development, the need to find quicker, easier and more cost-effective way of managing and disseminating information has become paramount. This new web presence of the Polytechnic is a mark, indicating our very understanding of how we see the need to solve problems using modern trends in technology.

The institution is poised at establishing collaborations with partners in both academic and industry. Many collaborations have already been established and I am particularly excited to be part of this Polytechnic.
