Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology

The Faculty of Creative Arts and Technlogy, an upgrade of the Department of Fashion Design and Textiles Studies in the 2010/2011 academic year, runs programmes in Art, Media and Technology.It is headed by an Acting Dean Mrs. Mary Felicity Tattrah. She works hand in hand with the Faculty's Assistant Registrar, Ms Esinu Selasse.

 

 

 

Department and Staffing

The first phase of the expansion programme of the Faculty embraces three Departments, namely,

Department of Fashion and Modeling

Department of Textiles

Department of Graphic Design

 

These programmes are supposed to be operational at the beginning of 2011/2012 academic year.

 

The staff strength of the Faculty is twety (20 ) made up of fourteen (14) teaching and six (6) non teaching staff with a student population of three hundred and ninety-seven (397); this comprises of one hundere and fifty-three (153) males and two hundred and forty-four (244) females.

 

Future Plans

To have a full complement of all art programmes of the Faculty envisions adding the following programmes in due course:

  • Painting and Decoration
  • Publishing Studies
  • Music and Theatre Arts
  • Advertising
  • Film, Video and Photography
  • Radio and Television.

 

The faculty plans to run the following Bachelor of Technology degree programmes:

  • Fashion Design and Modelling
  • Textiles
  • Graphic Design
