Admission Requirements
Applications are invited from qualified candidates for admission to the following programmes for the 2011/2012 academic year. CANDIDATES AWAITING RESULTS MAY ALSO APPLY.
A) DEGREE PROGRAMMES
I) Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering( one and half year top-up)
Full Time: Monday to Friday; 8.30am – 2.30 pm
Part Time (Weekends) : Fridays’ evenings, Saturdays & Sundays.
Entry Requirements:
Holders of HND Civil Engineering Certificate with a minimum of two (2) years working experience.
Second Class Lower Division holders will have to attend an interview.
II) Bachelor of Technology in Building Technology( one and half year top-up)
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must have HND (First Class or Second Class Upper Division) in Building Technology with a minimum of two years post qualification industrial experience.
The following candidates must pass a selection interview:
a) HND holders with Second Class Lower Division
b) Holders of CTC II Final (old scheme) or CTC III Final (new scheme) with at least credit in all the four major components. Also credit in English Language and Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Level or SSSCE/WASSCE Level shall be required.
III) Bachelor of Technology in Accounting with Computing ( one and half year top-up)
Entry Requirements:
a) Holders of HND Accountancy Certificate with a minimum of two (2) years working experience. Second Class Lower Division holders will have to attend an interview.
b) ACCA and ICA holders with passes in nine (9) or more subjects.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HND PROGRAMMES.
a. GBCE/ABCE/O/A LEVEL APPLICANTS
Five (5) GBCE passes or 5 G.C.E. Ordinary Level credits including English Language and
Mathematics plus at least two (2) G.C.E.’A’ Level/ABCE passes.
b. SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
SSSCE/WASSCE with passes in Core English, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies
and three (3) relevant electives with a total aggregate not exceeding 24 for SSSCE and 36 for
WASSCE.
c. Technician Part II/III Certificate holders with four SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English
Language and Mathematics.
d. DBS APPLICANTS.
Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English Language and Mathematics plus at least
three DBS passes.
e. MATURE APPLICANTS
Mature Candidates must be 25 years old and must have five (5) G.C.E. O’ Level
Credits/GBCE passes including English Language and Mathematics.
Must pass a written examination and an interview.

c. Passes in all Advance Courses in Building/Intermediate Certificates in Carpentry and Joinery, Block Laying and Concreting, Plumbing and Painting and Decorating/ NVTI Grade I.
d. For Catering 812/2, a Catering 812/1 certificate is required.
e. For Advanced Fashion, Intermediate Fashion Certificate is required.
(D) ACCESS/PRE-HND PROGRAMME FOR TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL SCHOOL
GRADUATES
One Year Access Course for entry into the following HND Programmes.
1. HND Electrical/Electronics Engineering
2. HND Mechanical Engineering (Plant, Production, Automobile and Metallurgy)
3. HND Building Technology
4. HND Interior Architecture and Furniture Production
5. HND Chemical Engineering
6. HND Civil Engineering

8. HND Fashion Design and Textiles Studies.
Entry requirements:
A minimum qualification of Intermediate or its equivalent.
Application Forms for B, C and D GH¢60.00 and GH¢65.00 for Mature Applicants.
(E) ONE YEAR TOP-UP HND DISPENSING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME
A One year top-up Dispensing Technology Programme leading to HND Dispensing Technology.
Mode: a) Regular (Morning) for applicants with distinction in DT Part III Examination
b) Part -Time (Evenings: 2.30 - 6.30)
c) Long Vacation (June-August each year); for three long vacation sessions.
b and c are fee paying programmes.
Entry requirements:
Must have overall credit and credit in Chemistry in Dispensing Technician Part III Examination
of Technical Examination Unit(i.e. Dispensing Technician Certificate Holders) OR must have passed
the access course organized by the Department of Dispensing Technology, Kumasi
Polytechnic.
(F) LONDON CENTRE OF MARKETING ADMISSIONS: ( March 2011 – Dec. 2011)

Entry requirements:
For levels 2 and 3, applicants must have Four (4) passes at SSSCE or WASSCE including English Language and Mathematics.
To start the Level 4 Foundation diploma, you should have at least two A-levels (or international equivalent) or a Level 3 qualification. Students without any prior qualifications must have at least two years’ experience in a business environment. For individual advice, you should contact the Purchasing and supply department of Kumasi Polytechnic.
