ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO NEWLY INTRODUCED PROGRAMMES OF STUDY

(2 PLUS 2 BSC. DEGREE PROGRAMMES)

The Kumasi Polytechnic, in collaboration with its partner universities abroad, is introducing the following degree programmes (Two plus Two) for the 2012/2013 academic year.

1. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science – K Poly + China
2. Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Oil and Gas, Petro-Chemical and Mechanical) - K Poly + China
3. Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences - K Poly + China
4. Bachelor of Science in Business Courses (Financial Accounting, Marketing, Procurement, Estate Management – K Poly + China/ South Korea / USA

1. BSC. COMPUTER SCIENCE - 4 years (2 years in K-Poly, 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess three (3) credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE SUBJECTS including English Language and Mathematics (Core) and social studies or integrated Science and three (3) credit passes in Elective subjects.

1. BSC. CHEMICAL ENGINEERING – 4 years (2 years in K-Poly and 2 years abroad

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess three (3) credit passes in SSCE/WASSCE subjects including English Language and Mathematics (Core) and Chemistry.

1. BSC. CIVIL ENGINEERING – 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess three (3) credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE SUBJECTS INCLUDING English Language and Mathematics (Core) and integrated Science and also three (3) credit passes in Elective Mathematics and two of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Engineering Science and Building Construction.

1. BSC. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING – 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects including English Language and Mathematics (Core) and integrated Science and also three (3) elective credit passes including Mathematics and Physics or Technical Drawing and Engineering Science or any one of the following relevant to the programme chosen: Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics and Basic Electronics.

1. BSC. PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE – 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics (Core) and integrated Science and also three (3) elective credit passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

1. BSC. PETRO-CHEMICAL ENGINEERING -4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 year abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes in English Language, Elective Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and credit passes in Mathematics (Core) and Integrated Science.

1. BSC. OIL AND GAS ENGINEERING - 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes in English Language, Elective Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and credit passes in Mathematics (Core) and Integrated Science.

1. BSC. ESTATE MANAGEMENT – 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics (Core) and integrated Science or Social Studies and also three (3) subjects.

1. BSC. FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING – 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics (Core) and integrated Science or Social Studies plus three (3) Elective credit passes in Business, Science and IT subjects.

10. BSC. MARKETING – 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics (Core) and integrated Science or Social Studies and any three (3) Elective credit passes.

1. BSC. PROCUREMENT - 4 years (2 years at K-Poly and 2 years abroad)

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have SSSCE/WASSCE passes in English Language, Mathematics (Core) and integrated Science or Social Studies and also any three (3) Elective credit passes.

COST OF APPLICATION FORMS

The cost of a set of application forms is - GH ¢70.00

MODE OF APPLICATION

A set of Application Forms and Brochure can be obtained from the following places:

Alternatively, interested applicants can download the application forms from our website – www.kpoly.edu.gh. However, they will be required to pay the application fees during registration.

For the 2 plus 2 programmes, online registration is not possible now. But efforts are underway to set up online application tools for the 2 plus 2.

Payment for the Application Form is by Bank Draft payable to the Rector, Kumasi Polytechnic. Completed application forms with self-addressed foolscap envelope (with stamps) should reach the Registrar, Kumasi, Polytechnic, P. O. Box 854, Kumasi, Ghana, not later than 30^th October, 2012.
