Director of Finance enstooled Twafohene of Yamfo Traditional Area
The Director of Finance of Kumasi Polytechnic, Mr Joseph Awuah Dapaah has been enstooled the Twafohene of the Yamfo Traditional Area in the Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo Region.
His stool name is Nana Awuah Dapaah II. The enstoolment ceremony which was held at Yamfo on 5th December, 2011 showcased the camaraderie of the people of Yamfo towards their new Twafohene.
The occasion was also characterised by the rich culture and tradition of the people of Yamfo which was resplendently displayed by the chiefs and people to mark the enstoolment.
Before the Abusuapanyin, elders and other chiefs, Nana Awuah Dapaah II swore the oaths of allegiance and secrecy to the Omanhene of the Yamfo Traditional Area, Nana Ansah Adu Baah II.
Nana Awuah Dapaah II was thereafter paraded through the principal streets of Yamfo amid singing and dancing, pomp and pageantry, while his subjects poured white powder on his head to congratulate him.
His employer, the Kumasi Polytechnic, was not to be left out of the occasion as a delegation from the institution was in attendance to see the Director of Finance elevated to a very high traditional office.
Before Yamfoman, the new Twafohene pledged to do all he can to uphold the honesty, truth and justice during his reign. He also pledged to do all he can to further the developmental agenda of the Omanhene and the traditional council, of which has now become an integral part.
In a related development, the Yamfo Traditional Council has formally informed the authorities of the Kumasi Polytechnic on the enstoolment of the Director of Finance as Twafohene.
In a letter dated 21st March, 2012 and signed by the Registrar, Ms Esther Obeng Nketia, the Council sought the support and co-operation of staff and the entire Polytechnic community for Nana Awuah Dapaah II.
It is anticipated that the entire Polytechnic community will accord the new Yamfo Twafohene all the necessary respect and courtesies his new status deserves.
